Some more Crib action with Hop Hop

My crib is still a rocking place to spend some time, I have not chosen 3 toys that are my favorites, Hop Hop, Mew Mew and Baby. 

In these photos I am spending quality time with Hop Hop, he is a funny pink bunny, with hilarious eyes that stare me down. I have to choose soon, just one friend who will be my comfort toy, its going to be hard, I dont want to hurt any toys feelings !! 

Eating Solids and my Bumbo

Finally the day came, it was time for me to be introduced to the amazing world of solid food. I have been on formula and breast milk for 6 months now, and it is time for me to get more adventurous. 

The first thing I tried is rice cereal, mixed up with a little formula, made a bit runny for the first time. I was put into my Bumbo ( more on that later ) and mom stuck a spoon in my mouth with the cereal on it.  It was so tasty, I loved it, swallowed it right down and opened my mouth for more. I was quite a messy experience, and I have to wear a bib, or my clothes get very dirty.

I am now eating cereal with apple or pear for breakfast, and for dinner I have either butternut, sweet potato, carrots and am moving onto green veggies this week. Soon I will have chicken, meat, fish and by 8 months will be eating everything, in moderation of course. 

My Bumbo that you see me sitting in is a fantastic invention, made right here in South Africa and popular around the world, it helps me learn how to sit, and is very comfortable. It is a one piece molded foam / rubber unit and it is really a cool seat, I hope I dont out grow it to fast. 

First Time on the Beach

A few weeks ago the weather was different on the weekend, not so cold, no clouds, and it was boiling hot and the sun was shining. The Parental Units decided it was the perfect time for me to go to the beach for the first time. 

We arrived at the beach, put out a huge beach mat and sat there for a bit looking around and feeling the sea breeze. Then Dad took me down to the waters edge. The sea was quite wild and Dad waded in a bit, and dropped my feet into the water, it was crazy, and pretty chilly. I also stood in the sand, with it squirting between my toes as the water rushed up over my feet, quite an experience. Will definitely go back to the beach again, I cant wait.

First Family Photo Shoot

On Saturday Mom and Dad had a surprise for me, we were heading off to our very first family photo shoot. We headed off to Noordhoek to Brenda's house. Brenda is a basically family, and she runs Hearts in a Shutter photography.

We picked up Gran Gran on the way, because mom thought it would be nice to have photos of me and Gran Gran to give her for her birthday.

We arrived for our shoot and were whisked around the house and the garden, the whole time Brenda was clicking away. Dad often stood behind Brenda holding Mew Mew, my favorite toy, and was also being silly, so I ended up smiling and laughing all the time.

It was such a fantastic day, I really enjoyed it and think I gave it my best. After the shoot we went to Cafe Roux for lunch, it was so nice, busy and lively, my first time there and i enjoyed it.

Lunch at Nana and Papa

Last weekend, the weather was lovely and we went off to Nana and Papa's house for lunch. Everyone loved the lunch, Nana's awesome tuna lasagna, and i got to spend lots of time with all my family. I also got to wear my new Hello Kitty hat which I love !!

I spent some time on the lawn, under the umbrella, playing with my cousins Justin and Liam, they are very funny and i love to pull their hair, it makes me laugh. 

Uncle Craig was also there, and we looked around the garden together, having a peek at all the lovely flowers and plants in Nana's garden.

Gran Gran and Auntie Misty played with me at the lunch table , where i sat and watched everyone enjoy the lovely lunch.What a fantastic day that was.

My 5 month Birthday today

Today is my 5 month birthday, 5 months since I entered this world, wow, what a ride so far. I celebrated by waking up at 5am, instead of my usual 4am, just to treat my parents, how lucky for them. 

Dad has continued to take me to for our regular Saturday outing, strapping me into my papoose and heading off to the Biscuit Mill, last Saturday we went into a really cool shop called Clockwork Orange in the Mill, it is a retro shop, with loads of cool stuff in it. 

After my bath, Dad wraps me in a towel, with a funny hood on it, keeps my noggin warm  after I exit my bath, I love it, and also looking at myself in the mirror afterward, its hilarious !

Some Outfits, smiles and general fun

Had a little day out the other day and decided it was perfect weather for my denim skirt. Underneath this, I wore my Hello Kitty vest and some rather fetching leggings. It was a killer outfit and got a lot of comments in the mall, where mom bought me a whole lot more Hello Kitty outfits, cant wait to wear them.

Sometimes when I am just chilling, Dad whips out the camera to take photos of me, these can sometimes be great shots, but am sure most of them end up in the recycle bin. 

I am also proud to announce that I have passed yet another milestone, when I lie on my tummy, I can lift myself up, and hold my head steady for quite a while. Awesome, I am also rolling over now, listening to voices and turning my head, and am almost sitting up by myself.

Teething

Something is going down that has me a little concerned. Apparently my teeth are starting to break on through, cutting through my gums, sounds like fun? Its not. Looks like this goes on for a while also, it never ends I tell you, just finish with the colic vibe, now this.

So anything goes in my mouth now, anything I can chew on for a bit to sooth my aching gums. My favorite at the moment is Heffalump, his trunk is awesome to chew on, in the bath I like to munch on Sally Starfish and Allen the Alligator, so nice. Lets hope this teething thing does not last to long. 

Me and my new Book

I have a book, that is a whole 8 pages long, and a very intense read, every page is filled with bright colours and things to touch and hold with different textures . It is crazy and makes me laugh a lot, there is a dragonfly on one page with wings that scrunch when you hold them, it is crazy, what a sensation, I love sitting up and reading my fantastic book. 

My Hey Cavey

A surprise came in the post, all the way from England, a Hey Cavey for me. He is the cutest little fellow, and now joins me on most of my adventures, I like him to be with me all the time, he stands very easily next me even when I am lying down, what a champ. I think I must ask dad to order me some more, so I can fill my crib with them, they make me very happy.
